DIE TASK

Describe

When i was walking on the street for the beginning of my being an exchange student time in Kokkola, I noticed that people were walking with their dog. I have thought that it was normal, because people can adopt pets and walk with them. But after one month in Kokkola, I realized that there are no dogs without people on the street. All the dogs are adopted by people. After 3 months, I can say that there is no any street animal in Finland.

Interpret

I had some searching by online about this situation and I found that there are approximately one million adopted dogs which corresponds to almost 20 % of Finland Human population. Finland has a specific type of dogs, Finnish spitz, are basically hunting dogs.  The other interesting situation that I found about adopted dogs in Finland is that people has to pay taxation for their dogs. At the past the whole municipalities had a taxation but nowadays,It is levied by two municipalities; Tampere and Helsinki. In Turkey, the street animals are everywhere and they really need to help. Not just dogs, we have a lots of homeless cats. Unfortunaltely, sometimes homeless animals are exposed to violence from such a ill-minded people.

Evaluate

I think it is a good thing, adopting street animals promotes right to life of animals by good way. In addition, I feel good to see such a respectful Finnish people because of doing that. I have one cat in Turkey, adopted him because he had six brothers and sisters, needed to help. I always encourage people to adopt homeless animals because they need to help. Finnish people really care about their pets. I can see almost everyday walking people with dogs on the street at night and day no matter how weather is cold or rainy. Especially at dark, people walk with their dogs who carry light, it looks funny and lovely J
