D-I-E Task

Describe: One of the most surprising thing in Finland is that people use bike trailers for kids. Since I came to Finland, I have seen many people biking with it even on the road where the traffic is a little bit heavy. There is not such a scene in Japan, so I was really surprised and also thought even though it may be easier for parents to take their children somewhere, the children must be scared of that. And at least in Japan, one reason parents don't use trailers is because many car drivers must dislike this. 

Interpret: According to what I found out, however, it may be safer in Finland than I thought. First, the trailer itself is very conspicuous, so that makes other people aware of it and it become safer than usual. Second, even if children are tired and fell asleep, parents can take them in safe. By the way, the following picture is the most popular way of biking with kids in my country. There are many mothers doing this in Japan especially in big cities. But now, I feel more scared of this...

Evaluate: I think spread of the trailer for kids means that society accepts people rearing a child. I guess that this also prove that people here understand how tough and important raising children is. So far, it is doubtful if Japan can introduce this way due to the heavy traffic situation, but I think we should improve our social understanding of taking care of family having children at least.
