CAN COLLECTORS
The first time I went out here in Finland I was very surprised to see that people were collecting cans in the street. It was not only adults but also teanagers and children.
They were asking to pople that were drinking if they could take their can.
At first, I said to myself: WOUAH !!! It's weird ! To be honest I never saw this in France. Even if people recycle in their house using different bags for the trash, they don't do it in the street.
It was the first time to me. And I thaught that you might be confident to do this.
I watched all night long and I tried to find out why. I remembered about the trash and the fact they asked us to recycle.... I understood that here in Finlande recycling is very important. So, Why not?
It's a good thing to take this initiative. People are paid when they give back the cans or the empty bottles. Earning money while recycling and at the same time, it permitts to keep the town clean. This could have been adopted by some "party" European towns for example,
In order to motivate people to clean and leave the planet clean we need some ideas and motivated people like this...
I don't see it in my home country, either. I think we should show this positive thing to people in our home country so that they could apply it and keep the environment clean.
ReplyDeleteI have seen this in Mexico but it's not as common and well paid as it is here. I think it's very nice that they do this in Finland so that people get motivated to recicle and don't throw the cans to the garbage.
